Been doing music for a while. Like making ambient, EDM, Funk and Electronic music; listen to just about everything for inspiration. Fell in love with synthesizsers back around 1980, before that, organ and piano. I also play guitar badly, and dabble with violin and flute. May try to incorporate those into my songs, if there’s an interest.
By the way, my music is mostly instrumental, so you don’t need to know English to enjoy it.
Here’s a couple of art pieces I’ve done over the past few months.
And this:
Yeah, it’s abstract art with no real discernable influences. I suppose you might think the first picture has Piet Mondrian influences, but it’s much like stuff I was doing when I was 10-12 years old, like this
I decided to give a promotion company some business when I had a better month than usual with a decent distribution from Distrokid. I chose Apolone for a one month campaign for one of my songs
I decided to give the one month campaign a try although I never used Apolone before. This is the result of an almost completed campaign.
With this as additional support, of just the featured song:
So, 2,840 listeners in 28 days for a really bizarre sub-genre. Is that good? It’s better than I expected. At least I didn’t have to go through the bother of trying to hunt down playlists and then pitch my song to them. And now I have and idea of which playlists to pitch to in the future.
For indie musicians, it doesn’t seem to be a good fit, as IDK what they bring to the table. I mean, if you’ve ever been played by someone trying to cut you out of a musical composition, IDK what Muso.AI is help with a situation like that.
It’s a piece of premium content at https://all-about-music.ghost.io that kinda is a dry review of Spotify’s finances and reasons to direct your fans to other platforms.
It’s my method to see if I can get some subscribers to a slighthly different take on the music business from this blog. And monetize it as my other means of making some bucks are falling on hard times.
Haven’t figured out how Ghost as a blog/newsletter platform works, but I guess it’s a learning experience.
I just dropped a new tune, “Guitar Explorations 250802” on Mirlo.space and am working to put it on Bandcamp. I hooked up a Fender guitar, that’s one of my favorites, to the pedal board shown and then to a Fender Twin Reverb thru the Vibrato section. Recorded on my trusty Zoom H8 and processed on my iPhone using the AUM app.
Finally got the whole EP loaded to Mirlo.space the link is https://mirlo.space/jaypeach53/releases to my whole catalog there. The new release is called “Noise Revisited”. Preview the songs or buy outright, whichever you like.
I’ve started another blog at https://all-about-music.ghost.io to cover slightly different topics than I cover here. I’ll also be posting more frequently there. Like this WordPress blog there’s no subscription fee to read most posts, though I’m hoping if you find the content useful that you’ll opt for one of the paying tiers.
The one big difference is that when you subscribe, either here or on all about music, you get emailed to you a copy of all posts, so you may not want more cruft in your mailbox.
I finally got around to hooking up the RCA plugs which are the only output jacks on the Clavinova CVP-50. Next step was to connect it up to the Zoom H8 portable digital recorder to see if the RCA plugs were connected to the right connectors on the Clavinova. At this point, the recorder was showing signal from the Clavinova when I started the Clavinova to play some music.
So I turned on the recorder to record something and it worked! I think the recorder to connected up AUX jacks on the Clavinova, though I don’t know whether I’ve got the right and left jacks connected up correctly, because there is a difference in the signals from the Clavinova. Gotta find a mirror to look at the connectors on the Clavinova because what I’m using as a reference is the French section of the user’s manual and the section with a description of the connectors is quite small and not detailed enough.
