So the music hasn’t been coming along, so for the month of October I’ve been spending what free time I’ve had doing painting. I’m just about finished with one piece, recently finished another, and I’ve got an idea for a third painting.
I’m doing abstract art, and using mostly acrylic paint, which is my second choice for the stuff I do. I would prefer to use oil paint, but acrylic paint is easier to deal with, even though the results are less satisfying.
Dunno if I’ve posted photos of my latest works, so here goes:
Oh, and by the way, this painting is a work in progress, so if it shows up in the store, it will have changed appearance.
Well, I just got a radio play in Croatia, so I thought I’d update you as to the radio plays across the globe, as reported by SongStats. Here’s part of their report:
As you can see, I’ve got plays on every continent except Antarctica, and Europe appears to be the winner continent-wise with a strong showing from a bunch of stations in Switzerland.
What’s a topic or issue about which you’ve changed your mind?
Over the past several months I’ve changed my mind about the usefulness of posting my music on streaming platforms. The payout is pitiful and the streams mostly don’t end up as listeners purchasing my albums and/or single tracks. I know my music only appeals to a small segment of the audience, but even so, it would be nice to get some recognition.
The overarching classification of my music is minimalist in nature. I’m not really into lush compositions with dozens or, like most pop music today, hundreds of different sounds and parts to the music. I like to create simple soundscapes that fit into a background track to your daily life, rather than in-your-face compositions.
